entry 9: american civil war

 

In books of history it's really enough information about Civil War and about lionhearted generals such as Robert Lee, Jackson Stonewall, and about their famous, battles. But as my opinion about this war I want to write not about Civil War itself but about life style, feelings and desires of ordinary people at that time. Civil War as all others not only gave success and improvement to the country but also misfortune, grief and woe to the thousands of American families. Hundreds of parents, sisters, grandparents and girls lost their sons, brother, grandchildren and lovers. Thousands of young men that could be housefathers and could had normal life lost their future, they lot ability to have family, work, to see first steps of their children, to hear that someone call him “DADDY”, to know that they achieved something in this life. In picture that followed this post you can see picture where soldier dreams about his family, it means that he kept hope that he could have any future after war. It’s really hard to know that thousands of such soldiers died with their unrealized dreams. Thoughts about these things make me feel hurt in my heart and I hope that in our destiny and in the future of our children won’t be any wars.

entry 8:my note taking experience

From 5th year of my life I learn new skills and knowledge including writing. In the beginner classes of the school the most important thing in writing for me was just could write my name. By ages its importance increased. Now I’m student of university and I understand that note taking from lectures and topics is more essential and useful skill then just writing. That’s why I always take notes in the classes. I have my style of note taking that I use to get more information. I save new knowledge on the paper by writing it like a chart, diagram or by using some handmade pictures.  By good note taking I’ll be able to record main ideas of topic and review them later, identify what is more essential in my task, repeat the most relevant points that I need by paraphrasing in my own words. If I prepare my tasks by note taking I’m sure about passing quizzes. It also helps to recognize and separate taken information and my own ideas step by step.

  In note taking it’s really important to keep in mind to think about purpose for reading and know what is really needed, to identify which part functions as an essential,  to be sure that notes well organized and to make conclusion of gathered information by own words.  So, if you want to success in your work always remember about note taking!))))))))))         

Entry 6: Time Management

Time management is one of the most important plannings in our life, because it is the most effective way to plan, manage and control your life. It's one of the secrets of successful study. People need time management not only in study. Planning of daily social and work events are important too. Professionals in every field use their own time lines and schedules. Each of us should learn how to plan and manage time in order to avoid failures. It's many types of managing our time. Everybody knows that note taking by writing down plans and time is helpful. That's right way, because using time line, daily (weekly) calendars which divide work and function as a checklist, developing them is really useful. They help to avoid missings, reviewing your lists remind you everything and you won't forgot anything.

Entry 5: My Goals and Objectives

My goals for next five years are: 1. To graduate my university on bachelour degree with sertificate of IELTE 2. To travel abroad 3. To build my own independent adult life. Now I'm in the process of achieving my goals. To reach my first goal I'm trying to study well and to not get any fails. In university I try to be very polite and kind with my groupmates and teachers, because one of the secrets of success is to behave yourself with others so that they love you. For achieving my second goal I'm learning languages and study at the university. Nowadays I know english, arabic, russian and uzbek. I'm planning to take a part in "Travel & Working" programm this summer. I think that it's really good way to spend my holiday. To be independent as I said is my third goal. I want to find work and to earn my own money. It isn't because I can't ask finance from my parents. Just by working and taking responsibilty by myself I make me confident that I'm adult person)

Entry 7: Tape Recording

In oral tutorials, classes and presintations it's really hard to take notes fast or to remember all information. In this case, what can student do to take full knowledge about the topic? It is possible to gather information about topic, to write down "wh" questions, to take notes and exchange them with others or to attend lecture one more time. Where as, the best way is using tape recorder during the class. In the classes I ask teacher's permission to switch on my mobile voice recorder and use it. Then in a silent place where I can concentrate I listen it again. It really helps me, because it contains all main points and parts which I couldn't catch or miss during the class because of something. Taping lectures consist difficulties and some disadvantages too. Some students don't pay attention to the teacher during the class because they think that they'll go over the tape later. This is wrong. If they do this: firstly, they'll lost time by spending twice as much time as needed, secondly, information that is represent by teacher's body language will be missed, lastly it can be problems with recorder and quality of speech. So, despite all advantages of tape recorder, to avoid problems, don't stop listening to the lecture and be careful with your tape recorder.

Entry 4: My Study Habits and Learning style

As I said in my previous post I'm kinaesthetic learner. That's mean that I need to do something in way to learn it) In every class I wait for playing something connected with the theme of the class, because of this I can understand new topic and remember it without any difficulty. Even at home while doing my homework I always turn on the music player and in every 20-30 minutes I enter to the internet, or do something else to have a little break. Without any activity in the process of learning I can easily get bored, even at home I can fall asleep))) During examinations I take bar of a chocolate which is the best antidepressant. It really helps me to relax and concentrate on my study.

Entry 3: The Learning Style

Every person studies something and takes new skills and knowledge by using 3 main types of learning styles. There are: 1.Auditory 2. Visual 3. Kinaesthetic learning styles. Let's describe each of them to know to which of them we belong) 1. AUDITORY- style in which person takes more information by listening something. E.g. Speech of teacher, different type recordings, news on radio etc. Such kind of people often can concentrate only by closed eyes and they don't so active in learning activities (they don't need do something to know it). 2.VISUAL- in this style people need to see something to know about it. Especially, visual learners take information by reading books, maps, handouts and etc. Writing down, taking notes and rereading everything is very helpful to those people. 3. KINAESTHETIC - the most active style. Kinaethetic learners should take a part in activites. To learn better they need participate in different roll plays, projects and etc. Personally I'm kinaesthetic learner and I love to play roll plays in the classes. And what about you? Entry 2: Debate on Mouse vs. Touch screen

It was our first debate in IELTE in STUDY SKILLS class. We separated into 2 groups: protectors of touch screen and Protectors of mouse. In the beginning of class we were informed about invention of mouse. That's why second group was stronger)but, we also didn't show our lack of knowledge about touch screen history and debated by our own experience. Our "enemies" said that using of mouse more comfortable because it's sample and your writing won't run because you will able to control your cursor on the monitor. At the same time we said that Touch screen is better because it doesn't require any connection cable and battery to save energy, so it'll be easier to use it and said that only that person who cannot use Touch screen hates them. In the end of class our Teacher decided that winner is friendship and both groups won the debate. and what about you? do you think that Touch screen is better or Mouse?

Entry 1;my first impression and expectations

Hummm.......... it's my first formal Blog where I'll write all about my study, friends and life. Well this article will be about my first impressions of my university. this year I passed exams to 2 universities in our city. there are: MDIST and USWLU. I really wanted to study in MDIST but in UWSLU study is more cheaper, so, unfortunately ( that time it I was really sad about it) I began to study in World Languages University. my first day was awful because my new classmates, teachers and buildings were not similar to that I used. Then I was informed about IELTE section in our university. I passed exams... and thanks God now I study here. My first day here was full of happiness because I like everything here: teachers, my new classmates, our building, even rules of IELTE. lessons are so interesting, I think it's because of new methodology. Nowadays I one of the happiest students of Institute of English language Teachers Education and I expect that during these 4 years I'll study here and after that I'll one of the best graduates of it)))))))))))
